A bookkeeping strategy for multiple objective linear programs

چکیده
This paper discusses the bookkeeping strategies for solving large multiple objective linear programs (MOLPs) on ADBASE, a well developed sequential software package, and on a parallel ADBASE algorithm. Three representative list creation schemes were rst analyzed and tested. The best of them, Binary Search with Insertion Sort (BSIS), was selected to be incorporated into ADBASE and the parallel ADBASE algorithm. The resulting new bookkeeping strategy was then tested in ADBASE as well as implemented in the parallel ADBASE algorithm. The parallel implementations were carried out on an Intel Paragon multiprocessor. Computational results show that the new bookkeeping strategy for maintaining a list of e cient solutions signi cantly speeds up the process of solving MOLPs, especially on parallel computers. A new method to determine a well-dispersed subsets of non-dominated vectors for MOMILP problem
Multi-objective optimization is the simultaneous consideration of two or more objective functions that are completely or partially inconflict with each other. The optimality of such optimizations is largely defined through the Pareto optimality. Multiple objective integer linear programs (MOILP) are special cases of multiple criteria decision making problems. Numerous algorithms have been desig...
متن کاملInputs and Outputs Estimation in Inverse DEA
The present study addresses the following question: if among a group of decision making units, the decision maker is required to increase inputs and outputs to a particular unit in which the DMU, with respect to other DMUs, maintains or improves its current efficiencylevel, how much should the inputs and outputs of the DMU increase? This question is considered as a problem of inverse data envel...
متن کاملMultiple utility constrained multi-objective programs using Bayesian theory
A utility function is an important tool for representing a DM’s preference. We adjoin utility functions to multi-objective optimization problems. In current studies, usually one utility function is used for each objective function. Situations may arise for a goal to have multiple utility functions. Here, we consider a constrained multi-objective problem with each objective having multiple utili...
متن کاملTarget setting in the process of merging and restructuring of decision-making units using multiple objective linear programming
This paper presents a novel approach to achieving the goals of data envelopment analysis in the process of reconstruction and integration of decision-making units by using multiple objective linear programming. In this regard, first, we review inverse data envelopment analysis models for data reconstruction and integration. We present a model with multi-objective linear programming structure in...
متن کاملAn Application-Level Dependable Technique for Farmer-Worker Parallel Programs
An application-level technique is described for farmer-worker parallel applications which allows a worker to be added or removed from the computing farm at any moment of the run time without affecting the overall outcome of the computation. The technique is based on uncoupling the farmer from the workers by means of a separate module which asynchronously feeds these latter with new “units of wo...
